Important NOTES April-May!
by Molly Johnson - Thursday, 3 April 2008, 12:04 PM
  NOTES!!!
1 - I was encouraged to see many grades go up this last week! Apparently my little note last week was read! Keep up the Great Work!

2 - I look forward to seeing all of you in person very soon! The Face2Face is this Saturday and remember the 9:00-12:00 part is NOT optional! I have about 18 RSVP'ed for bowling and pizza! Even if you do not choose to participate in bowling and pizza you must come for the morning session! Parents please feel free to drop students off @ 9:00 and then come for the speeches @ 11:00 and take them home/to the bowling alley from 12:00 - 2:30.

3 - SPRING is showing it's beautiful face more and more everyday! When winter finally parts and it gets warm I know all Minnesotans love to spend as much time outdoors as possible! Please make a schedule and goals for yourself to be sure you get schoolwork out of the way so that you have time to play!! Maybe start setting your alarm, work in the morning and play in the afternoon when it's warm out!

4 - I'm sure many of you have been hearing about changes to our virtual school next year. IT is true we are in the midst of a partnership with IQ academies! We believe this will be a great thing for the program. At this time we know very little about how the program will run next year. Please know we will share information as soon as we get it!

5 - Study-Tutor session is changing format! We had very little success with running a help time every other Wednesday from 3:30-5:30. Only a few students took advantage of it. We will still offer help in person if you need it. It is your job at this point to make arrangements with a teacher or me to set up a meeting time. Please know I am in my room most Mons-Thurs from 2:00 - 4:00. I will be willing to help you or just provide a quiet room! Please send me an e-mail prior so that I can plan for you or let you know if it will not work that day!

Week 21 - NOTES
by Molly Johnson - Thursday, 21 February 2008, 11:07 AM
  NOTES:
1- SAVE THE DATE!! APRIL 5th - Quarter 3 : FACE-2-FACE
2- Some of you have the latest version of Microsoft office on your computer which is great! But, we have the older version so when you save a document on Microsoft 2008 it saves with a .docx extension. You will need to delete the x before hitting save. You documents should just have a .doc at the end. Many of you need to re-save/submit assignments for Public Speaking / Careers. IF you are unsure about whether or not you need to resubmit assignments look in this progress report or contact your teacher!
3- If you are not passing classes please take advantage of the study session we are providing every other week!
4- You will notice that the format of the progress report has changed a little. I am trying to make this process a little less time consuming for me! (3 hours down to 2) You will only be getting 1 attachment with the e-mail that every computer should be able to open. It is just a PDF document. If you have trouble please let me know!
Semester 2 -Starting!
by Molly Johnson - Sunday, 27 January 2008, 06:58 PM
Monday the 28th is the first day of our new term. You should all be working on week 19 or maybe week 1 if you are in a semester course versus a year-long course.

This is a fresh start for all of you! Please do you best to stay on top of your work and not get behind! Many if not all of you saw last semester how hard Virtual school is if you get behind!

For the next 2 weeks you will see all of your semester 1 and 2 courses when you log into GSN and VsMN. You need to complete work in the new classes I sent you by e-mail last week. The old courses you are no longer taking will be removed when we store all your grades and compute your midterms, so just ignore them.

Reminder that the Face2Face is next Saturday, February 2nd from 9:00 - 3:00. Meet in Ms. Molly's room 230 at the Fergus Falls Middle School.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Scott, Stephanie, Austin - You will be starting a new algebra course this semester and it is a new curriculum. You will need a short orientation on how this curriculum works which we will have in my room this week. I will send you an e-mail when the date is set. You will not be able to start this course until we meet, so be sure to work hard to complete all your other courses.
WEEK 16 - NOTES
by Molly Johnson - Wednesday, 9 January 2008, 10:30 AM
I was looking forward to progress reports this week thinking I'd see nothing but good comments and passing grades since students had 3 weeks to get lesson 15 complete and caught up on all other lessons. Students should be currently working on week 16 meaning we have 3 weeks till end of term. That means grades need to be D or better to receive credit for the course. If your grade is not above a D you will not receive credit and will subsequently have to retake the semester to move forward toward graduation.

I will be looking at grades and meeting with the counselors over the next 2 weeks to determine schedules for Semester 2. If you have any questions or comments about continuing with Virtual School semester 2 or your course options, please contact me!

PLEASE NOTE WE WILL BE HAVING A STUDY SESSION NEXT WEDNESDAY, January 16th. It will be our final study session for this quarter. Only some of you have been taking advantage of these study sessions and coming in to receive help in your classes. More of you would benefit if you'd actually come and spend the time! If you are missing work or failing classes I hope to see you in my room (230) next Wednesday from 3:30 - 5:30!

QUARTER @ FACE-2-FACE date set for Saturday, February 2nd from 9:00 - 2:00! MANDITORY THAT ALL ATTEND!
Under Maintenance
by Molly Johnson - Wednesday, 2 January 2008, 05:32 PM
Jesse and I have just been made aware that students/faculty are experiencing difficulty when trying t access VsMN. Many of you have been seeing a message like "under going maintenance." We are looking into this, it should be fixed sometime tomorrow! If you ever see a message like this again for a long period of time, please contact one of us immediately using your VsMN folder with all our information in it!

Thanks for understanding. Let you teachers know if you will be unable to complete VsMN work for Week 15 by October 6th. They will grant a few extra days if they deem you deserve it!

Molly
